Nail Love

Ohmigosh. I think I may have an obsession. I real bad one...with nail polish. Holy smokes guys, I've been looking at nail blogs for days on end and having HUGE envy of these beautiful nails I've been seeing. There is a brand in particular that I've been yearning to buy, but I don't know how I feel about spending a larger amount of money on nail polish when I don't know how well it will last. Totally a good reason, right? I see this brand on a lot of nail bloggers (international bloggers mostly, seeing this brand is from Japan and not sold here in the US, boo) and it makes me so mad that I can't just run out and go buy it at the store. The brand is Nfu-Oh, and oh my word, it's b-e-a-utiful!!! Here are my favorite colors...

This is Nfu-Oh 51 and my most desired. I'm in dire need of a polish with flakies. I searched and searched and found out that this site does ship this brand to the US. Yay! It's a bit expensive ($12.50) for me, but I at least need to get this bottle. But to hold me for awhile, I'll be making an emergency trip to Sally's tomorrow to seek a brand that has flakies! I'm also in dire need of a good nail polish remover. Mine is terrrrible and I'm tired of it taking so long for me to take my polish off. Anyway, here are some other colors I'm in need of...

This color is Nfu-Oh 44. I love this color. I don't have any near this color and I can only imagine how beautiful it looks in person. Look at that color in the bottle, doesn't that make you melt??? Okay, maybe that's just me...

And then this is Nfu-Oh 40. What I really love about this brand is that these flakies can go over any color. It can transform a polish and take it so much farther. I love that this nail blogger also matte-ify's her shimmery nails. I love the effect and never thought of applying a matte coat over a shimmer/glitter/flake. Certainly something I'm going to try in the near future!!

And not Nfu-Oh related, galaxy nails. This is something I've been dying to try for ages, but am too scared that I'll ruin them. But you won't know until you try, right? I love how much fun people can have with these and how gorgeous the result is!

I bought some new polishes recently that I can't wait to share with you guys! Tomorrow I'm going to go to a new-to-me church. I'm really really excited and am glad I'm finally taking this step to find a church to join. It's something I've been meaning to do for years, and I'm glad I'm finally taking the initiative to go.

Friday Fancy // For the Love of Pyrex

I've never seen this design on Pyrex before, but I think it's fabulous. I hope one day I can get my hands on this!

Oh.my.word. A legit Pyrex necklace?? Yes, please!!

This is another design I haven't seen before. I really adore the color of these bowls. They would look pretty nifty in our kitchen on our orange countertop!

I really love the colors and design on these! Very unique and beautiful!

I love this fun gravy boat. Such a cute design and color combo!

  • The other day I was cruising on Pinterest. I seen this super yummy recipe. I clicked on it and went to the link to the blog it originated from. Holy smokes, I am in love. This blog is the most inspiring blog I've been on to date. It's about a girl named Andie and her weight loss journey. Five years ago she weighed over 260 pounds and she dropped 135 pounds. Seriously, how amazing is that?! This blog totally struck a cord with me and hit very close to home. She has some great recipes on there and has some great posts. Check her out!!
  • Another blog I found this week and loved is Konadlicious. She is an Aussie with the most amazing style and nails! Oh, her nails are fabulous!!!
  • Last, but not least, Miss Mary Louise! I recently found her blog and loved it! It's so fun and colorful! And she's Dutch, too! I love being able to find bloggers from all over the world, not just the US!

Well, now it's time for me to shovel out my car before I head to work. Oh, and I got the job!!! Orientation is next week :o)

Lightbulb!

Last night, I totally had a lightbulb moment. I know on here I talk about Crandon, a lot, and I was sitting there thinking how much I wish you guys could see what I see when I'm up there. Then I totally remembered, I shot a few videos of Crandon last summer.

So here I am, sharing the few videos I have with you all! The first video is when I was on Little Rice Lake with my family. We were out fishing and then we seen this gorgeous Bald Eagle soaring right above our heads. So I decided to shoot a video of it! I love eagles so so so much! They are one of my favorite animals of all time. I get so exhilarated when I see one when I'm up north. I've seen them so many times now, it shouldn't be a shock, but it always is. Can't help it I suppose ;)

This next video is of me shooting a Red Winged Black Bird and a little bit of the lake. There's a slightly funny (but not really) story behind this one...I seen this Red Winged Black Bird. I thought this bird was something special, especially because I never seen one before (that I know of anyway). So I was so stoked, I had to video it. Until my Uncle tells me later that they are all over the city and are nothing special. I was bummed at this, but I still think they are awesome birds! I wish I would have filmed this one better. I kinda swooshed past the lake pretty quickly in this one. I promise that I'll take a better one this summer!! Oh, and totally ignore me cawing at the bird, I'm a dork...

And then there is this last video...It's of a thunderstorm that's moving across the lake. I especially love this video because you can hear what Crandon sounds like...it's so beautiful!! All you hear is birds chirping and crickets and the lake swooshing back and forth. I love it. When I miss Crandon a lot, I play this video. The original is much longer, but I wanted you guys to get a taste!

This summer, I think I'm going to do a camping series. We have no internet up there, but I'd love to show you guys some things we do up there! Ahh, June can't come quick enough!!!!

ps. I finally have a Youtube channel... autumnbalmbotanicals ...which means, time for Vlogs!!! I think the first will be that regional dialect video that's been going around for awhile now!

So I Finally Did It...

I finally added the pink to my hair that I've been so desperately wanting for the longest time. I've been meaning to tell you guys since a week and a half ago when I first dyed my hair. But, I'm not sure how I like it. Actually, I really don't like it at all...

I don't feel myself with this color in my hair. I initially wanted  the color to be teal, not raspberry, but it was sold out at the Sally's I went to. Regardless, I was so so so excited to add a fun color to my hair. I almost cried at how unhappy I was when I washed it out. It certainly was not how I had envisioned it to be.

I myself am pretty darn conservative, and I feel so out there with this hair color. I mean, what did I really expect, right? I just love it on so many other gals, I thought I'd love it on me as much as I do on them...I guess not. It's still currently in my hair, but I will be dying it in a few days back to dark brown. I miss my red soooo much, so once the pink is out for good, the red will be back in. I guess my confidence level has plummeted and I've had the strangest looks (but one really nice compliment from a stranger). I still wanted to show you guys so you know I finally did it! I wish the outcome was better, but maybe one day I'll do the teal. Who knows!

Estate Sale Finds Pt 2

Yesterday, I had showed you my first half of finds from the estate sale. There were a couple old bandages left from the bandaid tin. I decided to open up one package to see if they still would stick, and they did!

There were a couple other brands and sizes mixed in that tin as well. This was my favorite. I just love the font!

I had found quite a few of beautiful vintage pillowcases that I just had to have! I love vintage floral print so much, I had to get them!

I love all the colors of this pillowcase.

I really love this particular case. It reminds me of up north and seeing all the flowers in the country. I can't wait to wash these and put them right on my bed!!

I was also able to snag some great vintage fabric, which was something I really was set out to find yesterday!

I love the quality of vintage fabric. How thick it is and of course, the colors!!

Apparently Bogart loves the fabric as much as me!!

My Estate Sale Finds! Pt 1

Today, my mom and I decided to visit an estate sale that had their 50% off sale today. At first I was hesitant. It's the third day and also the 50% off sale, I could imagine how picked over it would be! But I actually got quite a few things, surprisingly. I'm going to show you in two posts!

I got this "Le Bag." It's pretty big, which I like, and it also has a snap closure. Perfect when I'm out shopping or going to the library to get some books!!

This amazing mushroom canister. They had the majority of the whole set, which I really wanted, but seeing I don't have my own home, I had to just get one. This is going to be perfect for my knitting needles.

Benny, looking cute as always. See the bag in the back? I got that also. I'm going to use it as a travel bag. I didn't photograph it because it didn't want to photograph well for me at all, and it was awkwardly shaped.

I had to get this awesome vintage bandaid tin. I love old tins like this, but I can never find one I really like. This one even had some bandaids in it, too. I'll show those tomorrow!

I'm a lover of really old wallets. I love the detail of them (like this one with the three different colored stitches on the front). It's so beautiful in person, it really is!

These awesome vintage sunnies!

I yelped when I seen this! I bypassed it about three times (it was in the box), but then, BAM, I grabbed her because she was meant to be mine, regardless of what she looked like. I love love love clocks like these. They remind me of my grandma a whole lot. She used to keep her's in her living room and for some reason, I always admired it. This one is the best one I've seen yet. I love the orange outside and the mint coloring on the needles and by the numbers.

And Bogart, meowing (ahem, yelling) at me to stop taking pictures of him. Hey, I can't help it, he's too cute! I can't wait to show you all the rest of my finds...tomorrow. Dun dun dun!
